Before using the Chrome extension, make sure your account is set up correctly by following these steps.

The Readbetter Chrome extension makes it easy to send any content you see on your screen to your Kindle with Readbetter’s optimized e-book format. This is especially helpful for any paywalled content you have access to like paid subscriber posts on Substack or articles from news outlets like The New York Times.

How To Install and Setup the extension

Head to the Readbetter Chrome extension page in the Chrome web store.

Then click the Add to Chrome button in the upper right corner to add the extension to your Chrome browser.

If you’d like to pin the extension for quick access, click the Chrome extension icon in your browser’s top bar and click the Pin button for the Readbetter extension.

When you open the Chrome extension, you will be asked to sign in to your Readbetter account. Click the Sign In Button and you will be redirected to Readbetter.io where you can sign in.

How to send web content to your Kindle with the Chrome extension

When you are viewing the content or article that you want to send to your Kindle, open up the Readbetter Chrome extension and then click the Preview button.

This will load a preview of the article - please note that this does not match the output format on your Kindle 1:1, but it will be a close approximation of what will be displayed on your Kindle.

Then click Send to Kindle and wait a few seconds for your content to be converted and sent to your Kindle.

Make sure your Kindle is connected to the internet and has enough space left and within a maximum of a few minutes (usually less than one), the article will appear on your device.

Happy reading!
