If you don’t want to manually forward your newsletters but automatically forward them from your Gmail account to your Kindle with Readbetter, take these steps:

Part 1 - Setting up a forwarding address

1 - Make sure your Readbetter account is properly setup.

2 - Go to your Readbetter Dashboard and copy your Inbox address (the green email address in the upper right corner)

3 - Go to your Gmail Settings and click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP

4 - Under Forwarding click on Add a forwarding address and then enter your Readbetter Inbox address into the form

5 - Click Next and wait till you are redirected. (You might also need to confirm another authorization step)

6 - Click on Proceed

7 -  ‼️ Once this step is done, you will need to confirm the forwarding. Google will tell you that a confirmation link was sent to your Readbetter Inbox address. Readbetter automatically forwards this back to your Gmail, but it almost always lands in Spam.

8 - Go to your Gmail Spam folder and find the confirmation mail - you can ignore the warning - it’s only because Gmail isn’t used to having its own messages returned to it.
Copy the long confirmation link, paste it into a new tab and open it.

9 - Click Confirm

Part 2 - Setting up filters

Once you’ve set up your forwarding address, you can set up an unlimited number of filters and rules with which to automatically forward messages to your Readbetter Inbox and thus to your Kindle. Below, you’ll find the instructions for how to set up a simple filter based on the sender. For more on Gmail filters, see the Gmail documentation here

1 - Find an email based on which you’d like to set up a filter. In this example, I want to send all of the “Not Boring” newsletter editions to my forwarding address.

2 - With the message open, click on the three menu dots and then on Filter messages like this

3 - Gmail now suggests a filter - and shows you a preview of which messages would match the criteria. Adjust the filter as you wish and then click Create Filter

4 - Once you’ve clicked Create Filter you can choose what actions to perform on messages that meet the filter criteria. Here you can choose to Forward it to the forwarding address you configured in step 1.

5 - Choose any additional settings as you wish and then confirm the filter by clicking on the blue Create filter button.

6 - You might need to authorize a second time in the next step.

7 -
From now on, all messages that match your filter criteria will automatically appear on your Kindle!
